NPH, Menzel, Showtunes

So Glee last night was amazing. I wish I could have seen NPH as the Emcee in Cabaret on Broadway. I would love to see him all raunchy and half naked. The "Dream On" duet with Matthew Morrison was hot and I kept expecting them to pee on each other's leg they were giving off such alpha dog vibes. Still, their voices were magic together and that was the first time I had any idea what the lyrics of that song actually were.

More magic voices together would be Idina Menzel and Lea Thompson. "I Dreamed A Dream" from Les Miz has been put through the wringer thanks to Susan Boyle, but this version as a duet between mother and daughter with two Broadway voices was breath-taking and even though I almost always tear-up for this song anyway, I was biting my lip trying not to outright cry last night...and today when I watched it again. It is also more than a little spooky how much those two actress look alike.

The genius in the direction was obvious as soon as Artie's dream sequence turned into a flash mob dance routine. I want a flash mob. My town is so small I could be my own flash mob. Anyway, well done Joss Whedon.

So, this episode was as good as Barrowman flashing in a kilt, but not quite as good as Barrowman running around his house naked.

GLEE!

John Barrowman had a meeting with Glee. He needs to be on this show. I need him on this show. Preferably in shiny silver pants or a kilt. I know they can make it happen. The universe would probably implode from the stress of all that fabulousness, but I'm willing to make the sacrifice.
